4 Seriously Injured in Severn Car Crash
By injuheis on September 30, 2009
Car accidents can happen in a matter of seconds and create vast amounts of destruction. The Baltimore Sun recently reported that a total of 10 people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Severn, Maryland. The accident took place near the intersection of Still Meadows Drive and Jacobs Road. Anne Arundel police are investigating the cause of the accident.
Of the 10 victims, only one sustained life-threatening injuries. Four others were deemed to have serious injuries, while the four remaining victims suffered only minor injuries. In total, six adults and four children were injured in the crash.
Although there is no theory as to why the accident occurred, one would imagine that any intersection accident may involve negligence of some kind. All it takes is for one vehicle to disobey a rule of the road, and the lives of others can unfortunately be put into grave danger. Driver inattention can also lead to accidents, as can a lack of common sense, as in the case when drivers choose to operate their vehicles while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Furthermore, dangerous road conditions, such as uneven roads, obstructed traffic signals, or even leftover road-side construction materials can all play a significant factor in causing an automobile accident.
